Brew Fish Bar and Eatery in Marion has been a hot spot for great food and good vibes for the past ten years, and to celebrate the restaurant’s tenth anniversary, the owners are cooking up something special for their loyal customers.

The restaurant industry is not for the faint of heart. So many factors go into developing a successful restaurant, and it seems Erin and Todd Zell have figured out the perfect recipe for success.

How Brew Fish Bar and Eatery Got Started

Back in 2007, 210 Spring Street was still The Wave. Erin and Todd Zell came on board as investor partners but quickly discovered it wasn't fulfilling their true dream.

“By 2013, we bought out the partners and brought our vision to life,” said Erin Zell. “At the time, there was nothing like this in the area. We were ahead of the curve and (Brew Fish) took off.”

With Erin’s background in marketing and graphic design and Todd’s expertise in construction, the couple developed the ultimate hangout that combined a relaxed atmosphere with high-quality menu items.

What to Expect at Brew Fish Bar and Eatery

“We like to call it upscale bar food,” said Erin. “Anything from burgers and pizza all the way up to incredible entrees. Our chef, Jack, is really creative.”

Speaking from personal experience, do yourself a favor and try the swordfish tacos.

Spend the afternoon on the patio, enjoy a drink in the beer garden, warm up by the fire pit, or have a quiet meal in the dining room. Whatever you’re feeling, Brew Fish has it covered.

“What’s unique about us is the vibe,” said Erin. “You immediately feel comfortable and that’s one thing we really try to achieve. We treat our staff and our customers like family (and) it feels welcoming. It makes people want to come back.”

Brew Fish’s 10th Anniversary Is a Huge Milestone

It’s not an easy task to get to the ten-year mark for a family-owned restaurant, and while the Zell’s made Brew Fish a reality, Erin was quick to give credit to “the village” that helped her.

“We are really proud of what we have accomplished, I get emotional thinking about it,” she said. “It’s been a huge family effort. Our kids have worked here, my husband’s brother did all the construction…It’s been a big group effort and our staff is incredible.”

A lot of the staff that works at Brew Fish has been working there since its doors opened ten years ago. That’s a true testament to how special this Marion eatery is.
