Plans for a new Lizzie Borden movie "Defending Lizzie" to be shot in Fall River.

We've all heard the rhyme "Lizzie Borden had an axe, she gave her mother 40 whacks, when she saw what she had done, she gave her father 41."  To this day, however, experts in law and history still disagree about what actually happened on that hot August morning in 1892 when her father and stepmother were found axed to death in their Fall River home.

According to the Herald News, filmmaker Jerry Orzel and the writer Karen Poulson of Florida have collaborated on a story created from court records, news articles, witness statements, and years of research.

They say that filming will be done at the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast and other local sites across the Southcoast. The duo have been funding the project using an Indiegogo Campaign and have a website for the project that includes things like the cast, crew, and information on not only their screenplay, but Lizzie Borden as well.

Make sure you keep an eye out for more information on the Lizzie Borden story coming back to Fall River with the filming of  "Defending Lizzie".
