It's the frightful time of year where we prep for All Hallows' Eve, and that means it's time to get your house looking the part, too.
Getting Into the Halloween Spirit
One local family takes its Halloween display to the next level by making it not only a destination, but a way to give back to the community.

The Kenneys are a Taunton family who know how to celebrate the haunted holiday.
"I've always been a big Halloween person, not so much my husband, but he's a great supporter," Michelle Kenney said with a laugh. "I've always put stuff out and it got a little bit bigger and bigger every year."
From Display to Donation: How It Began
Back when the pandemic hit, crowds grew as Kenney and her family gave them an outdoor experience to enjoy.

Since then, the yard has seen various themes from pirates to graveyards and more. As onlookers continued to show up, Kenney and her family saw an opportunity.
Giving Back to the Community
"We got so much attention for it. I said maybe we should use this to do something good for the community," Kenney said.
For the last four years, there's been an addition to the display: a donation table where visitors can drop off items to support The Matthew Mission Food Pantry.
"A lot of people struggle with food insecurities," Kenney said. "(But) they don't just collect food. They (also) collect personal hygiene products and animal food for people with animals that can't afford it. They really go above and beyond."
Plan Your Visit
It began October 3 and runs through Halloween night, so you can visit "The Kenney House of Halloween Horrors" located at 5 Lori Lane in Taunton now for some spooky fun.
Visitors are welcome Sunday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (sometimes later).
Donations are not required, but they're certainly appreciated.
