I know that National Night Out is not about a night out with the girls on the town but if it was, here's what I would do and where I'd go.

As a working mom who has most of her minutes in the day accounted for, I don't get out with the girls much. But when I do, I want to have a good time. Here's what our Girls' Night Out would look like:

We'd meet up downtown at either the Black Whale, Freestones or Tia Maria's for a light dinner. Nobody wants to be overeating and feeling full or tired as we are heading into a fun night with the ladies. A glass of wine or two with dinner and catching up with the girls would be a night in and of itself, but let's just say maybe we want to go dancing or see some live music. The Vault at Greasy Luck always has cool bands and the atmosphere to go with it.  There's also some action happening under the tent at the Seaport Grille and Bar in Fairhaven this summer; they've got a great DJ there on the weekends.

Honestly, even if we brought food and drink to one of our houses and skipped going out on the town altogether, us moms would have a good time no matter what we did. We're really just looking for the camaraderie and guilt-free time away to enjoy each other with our stories of work, kids and the husbands. Usually, they are all good stories, too! 😊
