Pope Francis issued a new document this morning titled, "The Joy Of Love", which looks as if it's somewhat forgiving when it comes to divorced and remarried Catholics who want to receive communion at church.

The Southcoast community has people of all religions but is heavily populated with Roman Catholics.  In this new document, the Pope says the church should be a pillar of support, not judgement.  He went on to say that gays and lesbians deserve protection from what he calls "unjust discrimination" but he did uphold the church's teachings that marriage is only between a man and woman.

So though we don't have a firm, YES, on communion at mass for divorced people attending church, it feels as though Pope Francis is moving things in that direction.
