I did something last summer which I regretted. Somehow I made it through the entire summer without indulging in a lobster roll. When you live in the No. 1 fishing port in all of America, that is an inexcusable offense. I wanted to make sure I corrected my mishap this year, and I am happy to report that I was successful in doing so. Whenever I order a lobster roll, though, one topic always seems to pop up at the table.

Settle the Great Hot Versus Cold Lobster Roll Debate

Do you like your lobster roll hot or cold? Personally, I'm not about to turn down anyone who's serving a lobster roll. I don't care if it's hot or cold. However, given the choice, I'd have to say that I'd choose cold, especially during a hot summer day. There's something about enjoying a nice cold sandwich jammed with lobster tails and claw meat. When the lobster meat is cold the texture is even better to me. I don't want the sandwiched slathered in mayo, but I want just enough to hold the sandwich together.

How the Off The Boulevard Lobster Roll Is Served

Off The Boulevard's lobster roll is served cold and is packed with fresh lobster meat, lemon aioli, celery, and parsley on a toasted split-top brioche roll. It is served with French fries and coleslaw. The cost is $32. However, it's on their seasonal menu only, so grab one before it disappears into the brisk fall air.

The Demolition of Wareham's Lobster Bowl Restaurant

Wareham's Lobster Bowl restaurant served the community for 46 years, from 1954 until 2000. In 2001, the 99 Restaurant moved in before opting to go across town in 2016. Having sat empty for six years, the iconic building has been demolished to make way for a new car wash.
