Our live broadcast from Plimoth Plantation last week on the day before Thanksgiving was so much fun, and something I look forward to each year. I love all of the characters we get to chat with during the show and l learn a little something new from them every year.

Plimoth Plantation has a complete list of holiday and winter workshops and events. Me? The wreath-making workshop for one and then, of course, a visit to their legendary gift shop for the homemade (not by me) fudge that I add to my (yes by me) homemade chocolate chip cookie gifts. This is one of my all-time favorite gift shops ever. I got to roam around a bit last Wednesday while I was there and look at some of the fun items and new additions they have for sale.

Adorable bags, baby bibs, stationary, clutches and wallets all customized for the Mayflower by Olive and Company. How amazing are these?! And then there's the Cape Cod Nail Company organic nail polish with Mayflower-themed color names. My favorite is the Oceana, which is the name of the baby who was born on the Mayflower coming to America.

As we get closer to the huge 400th Anniversary Celebration for the town of Plymouth, we can't help but get excited about the return of the Mayflower II to her home in Plymouth Harbor. Read and watch the video all about her restoration still underway in the Mystic Seaport as we speak.

On this day in 1620 (old-style calendar), the original Mayflower passengers, anchored at Provincetown, signed the Mayflower Compact and established themselves as a "civil body politic." Many credit this agreement as laying the foundation for the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.⠀ ⠀ Find out more about this historic event at plimoth.org.⠀ ⠀ #Plimoth #Patuxet #livinghistory #17thcentury #museum #mayflowercompact #historicPatuxet #otd
