High Winds Could Cause Power Outages Tonight
It's the first really cold night of the new season and it could end with power outages for some.
A Gale Warning and a Wind Advisory are in affect across the SouthCoast tonight with wind gusts getting up to 45 mph.
And as ABC 6 meteorologist Jeff Desnoyers tells us that could mean tree damage and possible power outages as well.
The wind was already picking up as the afternoon wound down, dropping temperatures quite quickly across the area.
But the gusts will really start to gain speed overnight into early tomorrow morning, causing a very cold night in Southern New England.
Expect temperatures to drop down around the mid-30s overnight tonight and barely get to 50 tomorrow.
And it looks like these colder temperatures will be our new normal very soon. Things are expecting to be this chilly again over the weekend.
So for those trying to hold off on turning on the heat, you may want to change your mind about that one tonight.
And you can check out Jeff Desnoyers' seven day forecast night tonight on ABC 6 to get all the details on the fall weather headed our way.
