A true hero is someone who helps others by saving lives.  That was exactly what Figo, the golden retriever guide dog did.

Figo saved his blind owner’s life from being hit by a school bus in Brewster, New York.

According to Scripps Media.com, the pair were halfway across the street in a crosswalk when the incident happened.

Those who witnessed the event said that the golden retriever threw himself out in front of his owner, Audrey Stone. Despite Figo’s efforts, both he and Stone were still injured in the incident.

Stone suffered a fractured elbow, three broken ribs, and a fractured ankle. Figo injured his leg and it had to be operated by a local veterinarian.

The bus driver who failed to stop for Figo and Stone received a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian. Also, the driver has been taken off duty until the school district comes to a conclusion of the incident.

Both Figo and Stone are recovering from the scary incident.
