For the first time in my life, I'm seeing the world from a whole new perspective.

It's been one-month post-LASIK surgery and I think I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit emotional. Let's be honest, no one looks forward to any kind of surgery, but as I was laying in that patient chair, moments away from eye-vision correction, I felt a smile stretch from ear to ear. The stress balls they gave me were just sitting in the palm of my hand, the intended death-grip was miles away. The calmness with a side of anxiousness overcame me as Doctor Kenneth Kenyon advised me that it was time for the procedure to begin. At this point, there was no turning back, but that was a thought I couldn't even muster up, even if I wanted to... I was ready.

As I stared at a small red light, I could still hear the smooth jazz playing in the background and the calm soft-spoken professionalism from Dr. Kenyon and his staff. After ten whole minutes (five minutes per eye), I was told that I was all set and to sit up; the procedure was over in a blink of an eye (pun intended). What happened next was completely unexpected. I could see... but I was contacts and glasses-free.

On the ride home, I kept my eyes shut due to the sensitivity of the daylight, my mother behind the wheel. The time was 2:30 PM as I laid down in bed with my new eye protective goggles (this helps to prevent any eye rubbing while asleep) and slept until 7:00 AM the following morning. Nervously, I opened my eyes, expecting the room to be blurry and out of focused, but I couldn't have been more doubtful and wrong.

The first thing I noticed was the digital clock. I could never read the time across the room and the numbers always seemed blurred together. As if the clock was right in front of me, 7:00 AM was as prominent and sharp as if it was inches from my face. That's when I realized I needed to see more, it was time to explore.

I went for a walk down Main Street in Acushnet, it was a picture-perfect Saturday morning. Not only did my eye-sight correct itself, but I started to see colors more vividly and brighter. Not to sound too dramatic, but the world itself all around me seemed a bit more beautiful. It was a nice change for once to be able to step back an just take in the sights.

From that day on, my eye-sight only got better and stronger. The eye drops that Eye Health Vision Centers gave me kept my eyes moist and lubricated throughout the healing process. Everything appeared to be more advanced than high-definition, almost like 4K Resolution... all this, because of LASIK eye surgery.

Of course, I couldn't end this story without expressing my deepest and most sincere thanks to Doctor Kenneth Kenyon who is truly the best in his field, making me feel relaxed and at ease throughout the entire procedure from beginning to end.

Lastly, I have to admit that my LASIK Coordinator Karen was just awesome in so many ways. Whether it was setting up the procedure, acknowledging everything I would need to know by walking me through the surgery ahead of time step by step, so that there were no surprises and most importantly, she truly cares about her patients, not only as a consultant but as a friend. She made sure I was 100% prepared for the big day and would remind me whenever I had a pre or post consultation and directions on when I should be taking my eye drops. Trust me, this all makes a HUGE difference when preparing for life-changing (for good) surgery.

Every day that I wake up and open my eyes, I find comfort and overall joy with the results I received from Eye Health Vision Centers. Keep that in mind, because our vision is crucially important in the way we live out our lives. If this has always been something you think you might have been interested in, then don't "think" about it anymore, make the change today.
