Fun 107 Playlist – August 2014 Top Songs [VIDEO]

It's a perfect song for summer, so it's no wonder that in August Magic!'s "Rude" is riding high on the charts. 

Hard to believe such a beachy sound comes from a Canadian band, but Nasri Atweh, Mark Pellizzer, Ben Spivak and Alex Tanas did come together in the Toronto area. Atweh has been writing hits for other singers, like Pitbull and Chris Brown, for years but "Rude" is the first smash he wrote for himself.

And while you may think he has a girlfriend's father to thank for the song, it was actually the girlfriend herself that gets the credit for the track's title.

Lead singer Nasri Atweh says he was in an unhealthy relationship with a now ex-girlfriend and after a particularly bad fight the lyrics "Why you gotta be so rude/ don't you know I'm human too" came to mind and soon a hit was born.

And now we're all spending the rest of the summer thinking beach when we hear the reggae infused smash play.
