Kim Viera.  It's a name that could easily be a student at UMass Dartmouth, a Dunkin Donuts worker on Milliken Boulevard in Fall River, or a teacher at Lincoln Elementary in New Bedford.  But on Friday night, October 26th, Universal Republic artist, Kim Viera, is going to take the Monster Mash stage.

This Kim Viera, however, doesn't have a Portuguese heritage.  She is proudly Puerto Rican and wants to make sure her music showcases that Caribbean flair.

Kim tells Billboard magazine:

"For me, [being] Puerto Rican is a vital part of who I am. Music is a huge part of that, too. It was the center of my household. There was food, music and family. I love my culture [now more than ever], especially with Puerto Rico having gone through the hurricanes. I rep it because it is [in] me in every single way. So, it is important never to forget where you come from."  --Kim Viera, Billboard Magazine, 7/18/18

She teams up with Daddy Yankee on her new hit "Como".  The first time I heard the song, I knew it would be a hit here on the SouthCoast.  It just feels like you're on vacation when you hear the song coming out of your speakers.
