REHOBOTH — On Thursday, Rehoboth police and other law enforcement agents seized nearly two kilograms of suspected cocaine valued at over $70,000 from a home in town.

Police said authorities had received a tip regarding several packages that were shipped to a Cedar Street home from Puerto Rico.

The packages were thought to contain a "large quantity" of cocaine, according to police.

After an an investigation conducted by Rehoboth and state police along with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and the Bristol County Sheriff's Office, a search revealed the packages contained massive amounts of suspected drugs.

Police said the nearly two kilos of suspected cocaine has an estimated street value of over $70,000.

A possible suspect from Providence, Rhode Island has been identified, police said — but they did not say whether an arrest has been made in the case.

The investigation is ongoing.
