Friendly's won't be making their ice cream anymore.

The company announced late Monday night that they are selling their manufacturing and retail ice cream business to Dean Foods Company for $155 million cash.

WWLP reports that Dean Foods will keep the manufacturing company in Wilbraham, MA and said they were "delighted to welcome the Friendly’s employees."

Friendly's ice cream is distributed to nearly 8,000 retail locations and that should not change.

As for the Friendly's restaurants, they will remain owned by Sun Capitol Partners, Inc and say they have new plans for food and ice cream in the near future.
