Fitness in the Park's free outdoor fitness classes are making a return to Cushman Park on Green Street in Fairhaven. This will mark the 10th year in a row that the free classes will take place there.

Because of the state's recent change with the mask mandate, masks will not be required. The classes will be outdoors, and will also be conducted socially distanced from one another in the interest of public health. There will be a minimum of six to eight feet between mats.

The 10-week program consists of yoga and exercise classes on Tuesday at Thursday mornings from June 22 to August 26.

TUESDAYS:

Yoga in the Park begins June 22 with certified yoga instructor Jeff Costa. Yoga in the Park is a yoga series for all levels, designed to introduce newcomers to the basics of stretching and mindfulness. It is designed to challenge yoga enthusiasts with a focus on compassion for the body. Costa is a nationally certified instructor and founder of the Sangha New Bedford yoga studio.

THURSDAYS:

Summer Bootcamp begins June 24 with certified personal trainer Wayne Goulart. The Bootcamp class consists of various exercises that build functional strength and core stability with circuits utilizing light dumbbells and bodyweight exercises. Goulart is a certified personal trainer and is the lead trainer at the New Bedford YMCA.

Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat and a pair of dumbbells for Bootcamp.
