It was a month ago when we told you about the Rehoboth father/daughter dance that went viral around the world.  The couple who gifted their dance to a friend and her terminally ill father.  Today we are sharing the sad news, that Jessica Otto's dad, Peter has passed away.

In a post on Facebook, Jessica wrote:  "You were a passionate father, a devoted husband, a loyal friend and a fierce survivor. The kind of person that could light up a room as soon as you walked in just by smiling. Your laugh and your humor were contagious. You were so energetic, full of fun and so much love. Giving all that you could and expecting nothing in return. A man of few words but when you spoke, all eyes were on you. Everyone you met, you left an everlasting impression on. It feels like a piece of us is missing. The world just isn't as beautiful without you here but I feel your presence all around me. I'll see you in my dreams. Please visit often."

Peter was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2001, Central Nervous System Lymphoma in 2009 and a brain tumor in 2013.  Unfortunately, last year he suffered a setback and his symptoms returned.  He was only 54 when he passed away on July 31st.

Just days after his death, Jessica hit the road in memory of her father and peddled 192 miles in the Pan Mass Challenge to benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

The last time we checked in with her, she had already raised $4,000.  Now she is almost at $15,000 of her $20,000 goal.

There is still time to help Jessica reach her goal, by clicking here.

Please keep Jessica, The Otto Family and their friends in your thoughts during this difficult time.
