To all my tater tot connoisseurs, I might have found the tastiest jackpot on the SouthCoast.

At Airport Grille in New Bedford, you'll find some pretty exciting menu items, but one of them far exceeded my expectations.

Last weekend, my fiancee and I celebrated our third anniversary at the restaurant, where our love story originated. It's a tradition that we not only make reservations here but kindly ask if we can have the same seats where we met.

I noticed that some new dishes were added to the menu. One of them was this "loaded tater tot flight" that had three different flavors to choose from:

  • Buffalo chicken
  • Barbecue pulled pork
  • Chili

The creator behind this delectable idea is none other than executive chef Rafael Flores who has been amping up the menu for two years. The flights are the latest creation to come out of the kitchen and they've been very popular with customers.

"I just wanted to be a little different; everything's similar around here," Flores said. "I'm different when it comes to my cooking style. These flights have been selling like crazy. The tater tots are fan favorites."

Not a fan of tater tots? Perhaps give the loaded mac and cheese flights a try, with your choice of buffalo chicken, barbecue pulled pork and housemade chili.

Luckily, these flights are not a limited-time special and are offered daily.
