17-Year-Old Suspect Arrested in Fall River Murder
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the killing of Jovanni Perez in Fall River last weekend.
According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Antwyne Robinson was arrested late this morning in Fall River and is now facing a charge of murder.
He will likely be arraigned this afternoon in Fall River District Court.
Perez, 18, was found suffering from “multiple gunshot wounds to his upper extremities,” according to Fall River Police, after officers responded to a report of a male gunshot victim at around 12:18 p.m. on October 14 in the area of 253 Locust Street.
Perez, a resident of both Fall River and East Weymouth, was rushed to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 1:41 p.m.
An investigation by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the D.A.’s Office, Fall River Police and Homicide Unit investigators led to the arrest of Robinson.
The investigation was coordinated by Assistant District Attorney Matthew Lopes, who will also handle Robinson’s murder arraignment, the D.A.’s Office said.
On Monday, Fall River Police said Jovanni's homicide could be related to other shootings in the city.
