Fall River Police Arrest 17-Year-Old on Gun Charges
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — A 17-year-old Fall River juvenile has been arrested on outstanding arrest warrants and gun charges, according to the Fall River Police Department.
On August 14, Fall River Police detectives arrested the 17-year-old in the Father Vincent Diaferio Housing Development area.
Police said the suspect attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by Vice and Intelligence Gang Unit detectives.
A loaded 9mm Polymer pistol was also found on the suspect following a search.
The 17-year-old was arrested and charged with carrying a large-capacity firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in public without a license, carrying a firearm without a license and possession of ammunition.
Police said the arrest resulted from ongoing collaborative efforts between Vice and Intelligence Gang Unit detectives, Major Crimes detectives and the Special Operations Division.
According to the police, these detectives are directly responsible for the seizure of 13 illegally-possessed firearms since the beginning of this year.
