Fall River Police Arrest Two Juveniles, Including One With a Gun
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Two juveniles face charges after Fall River Police broke up a group congregating near a convenience store and discovered one of the youths allegedly had a gun.
According to police, members of the Vice, Intelligence and Gang Unit were patrolling the Flint section of Fall River on June 23 when they noticed a group of people congregating near a convenience store.
Police said that as they watched the group, members of the group noticed the officers and then went into a nearby alley. When officers went to the alley to speak with them, they said two males ran in the direction of Pleasant Street.
After chasing them on foot for several blocks, a 16-year-old male was taken into custody in the area of Choate Street and Alden Street, and police said he had a loaded 9mm Hi-Point firearm on him at the time of his arrest.
The second male, a 17-year-old, was taken into custody in the area of Alden Street and Harrison Street.
Police said the 16-year-old is charged with carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, receiving a firearm with defaced serial number, carrying a firearm without a license to carry, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.
The 17-year-old is charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.
