Fairhaven Restaurant Has a Flavorful Margarita Tower Perfect for Sharing
Every time I go to a bar, it's the same old song and dance when it comes to ordering a beverage.
I'm tired of the usual "Tito's and soda water, please" whenever the bartender asks, even though I love it. Sure, SouthCoast bars always have something new on the specials menu but I'm looking for something different, something bold. Not to sound fussy; I'm simply chasing the thrill of the cocktail.
Is that too much to ask?
While giving away the last pair of Fun 107 Justin Timberlake tickets last week at Traveler's Alehouse, I spotted something across the room that made me say "Woah."
It was National Margarita Day and one of the patrons on Huttleston Avenue in Fairhaven was celebrating accordingly. When I asked what this crazy concoction was, the manager told me it was the $36 "Margarita Tower."
Excuse me? Take all my money and don't forget the limes, please and thank you.
Like the giant espresso martini at a restaurant in Newport, Rhode Island, this tower requires a minimum of two drinkers. It comes equipped with four margarita flavors that owner Minh Tieu created. The flavors get swapped out every two to three weeks. The flavors when I stopped by were traditional, coconut, passionfruit and strawberry mango. The restaurant has also offered watermelon, blue breeze and blood orange.
Tieu has been offering these towers since September 2023 and they've apparently been selling like hotcakes. If you have a suggestion, let a bartender or manager know and maybe your flavor will be added to the next round of Margarita Towers.
Cheers to all, and drink responsibly.
