The Town of Fairhaven needs your help. A brand-new robot will assist in keeping the harbor clean and it needs a name.

How Can I Name the Robot?

The Town of Fairhaven and Fairhaven Marine Resources Department are asking for "creative, fun, and maybe even historic name ideas that reflect Fairhaven’s coastal character."

They shared the excitement and instructions on the Town of Fairhaven Facebook page.

If you have a clever, punny idea, you can submit your name suggestion online.

The name will be given to the Jellyfishbot, an aquatic robot that will glide through the water, picking up floating debris.

What Is a Jellyfishbot?

This high-tech helper is operated via remote control and was initially created for the collection of pollutants in ports.

Its small size allows it to access hard-to-reach places like between boats and under pontoons.

When Will a Winning Name Be Announced?

After submissions are collected, a list of finalists will be narrowed down. Folks can then vote for their favorite at Huttleston HarborFest on Saturday, August 23.
