Fairhaven’s BOCCA Restaurant Gets Punked Three Nights in a Row

Imagine owning one of Fairhaven’s most popular restaurants, and getting punked three nights in a row. Fairhaven’s BOCCA restaurant was the victim of a prank not once, not twice, but three times this week. The letters on the sign outside BOCCA had some unsavory words, to put it mildly.

Security System Glitch

When asked about security cameras, BOCCA owner Mario Ribeiro said the outdoor area is usually under surveillance, but the system is inconveniently down at the moment. The restaurant expects the system to be repaired very soon.

Sign Switch Prank Three Nights

“Yeah, they did it three times in a row,” Ribeiro said. “They rearranged the letters on our sign out front to display some pretty raunchy words. I wake up in the morning and see the pictures as I scroll through Facebook.”

Owner Keeps Perspective

The restaurant owner doesn’t think it was an unhappy former employee.

“It’s definitely just kids," Ribeiro said. "They’re out of school. They’re bored, just looking for something to do. I don’t think any adult would have the guts to pull that off.”

Karma With a Laugh

Ribeiro admitted he would have done something similar in high school.

“Anybody who knows me and how I was in high school knows that I’d be the one doing a prank like this. It’s almost like God’s getting me back,” he laughed. “Honestly, I’m shocked it hasn’t happened before.”

While Ribeiro is taking it with a grain of salt, he definitely isn't looking for the pranks to continue. He encourages the "hackers" to quit while they are ahead.
