The Buttonwood Park Zoo celebrates their 125th birthday this weekend, and New Bedford's zoo will be throwing a party this Saturday night called Zoobilation.

The zoo's newest baby ducklings paid a visit to the Rock and Fox Show this morning to help get the word out about the zoo's milestone birthday.  Six ducklings were waddling around the study as we tried to do the show this morning.  They were happy to be walking about, but were also surprisingly open to being picked up and cuddled.  At first, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to hold the duckling without dropping him or crushing him, but it turns out that my little guy was so comfortable being held by me that he fell asleep in my hands.

To celebrate the milestone birthday, the zoo's director, Keith Lovett, told us that he wanted to have a family friendly event.  The 125th Anniversary Zoobilation happens Saturday night from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.  There will be a free ice cream sundae bar, unlimited carousel and train rides, lawn games, face painting and characters from your favorite kid movies and TV shows.

Mad Science Southcoast will give families a chance to explore bubbling potions and hands on experiments.

The Rock and Fox Show wishes the Buttonwood Park Zoo a very happy birthday!
