
Donnie Wahlberg to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award in Boston
From his early days of playing with his eight brothers and sister in the neighborhoods of Dorchester, to family dinners (probably made with government cheese) with his late mother Alma, Donnie Wahlberg has never forgotten his roots.

If a successful movie career and business ventures weren’t enough, you could also see Donnie Wahlberg star in all 14 seasons of Blue Bloods, the CBS hit drama that now has Wahlberg in his own spinoff, Boston Blue.

Lifetime Achievement Award
It's those many achievements and more that caught the attention of the Boston Arts Academy Foundation, a nonprofit organization that is honoring Wahlberg with its Lifetime Achievement Award this fall.
Inspired by the Kennedy Center Honors, BAAF Honors recognizes leaders in the school’s art majors: Dance, Fashion Design and Technology, Music, Television and Film, and Visual Arts, as well as Honors in Civic Responsibility.

When and Where
The ceremony will be held at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway on Thursday, October 23.

The night will include performances from various artists including fellow honoree Johnny Gill of Boston-based group New Edition.
6 p.m. to 9 p.m.: Cocktail reception, speaking portions, awards presentation, dinner, live auction, student performances and special guest performance.
9 p.m. to 12 a.m.: There will be the Honors after party.

All funding will directly support public arts education and life-changing opportunities for Boston Arts Academy’s students for generations to come.
