
Boston Legacy FC Taps NKOTB for Historic Gillette Stadium Debut
Boston's newest sports team is kicking off their inaugural season in a very Boston way.
Boston Legacy Football Club's first-ever home opener takes place at Gillette Stadium on March 14, 2026 and Boston icons, New Kids on the Block, will be there for it.
Fans attending the Legacy FC opener will not just get a great women's soccer game, they'll enjoy a mini NKOTB concert during halftime.
Where Can You Watch Boston Legacy FC Home Opener on TV?
The special performance takes place when Boston Legacy FC takes on NJ/NY Gotham FC in what is expected to be one of the biggest regular season crowds in Boston's National Women's Soccer League history. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. and the match will air nationally on ABC.

According to the team, more than 20,000 tickets have already been sold to the milestone match. Gillette can fit up for 65,000 for a soccer game. This announcement could bring additional fans.
Team President Jennifer van Dijk added to the excitement stating,
"By bringing together the Boston Legacy FC and NKOTB fan bases, we’re creating a once-in-a-lifetime moment for our city. This is an event not to be missed.”
NKOTB seems equally excited for their Massachusetts show. Band member Donnie Wahlberg weighed in, stating "This halftime performance is part of a new and exciting chapter in Boston sports history and we are so happy to be a part of it.”
New Kids on the Block Vegas Residency
NKOTB, currently in the middle of a Las Vegas residency, will return to their home state to welcome Boston's newest professional sports team with a medley of their biggest hits during halftime. The team says NKOTB will also be integrated throughout matchday, though no specifics on what that means for fans.

Boston Legacy FC tickets are currently on sale through the team's website, including seats for the historic home opener.

The women's soccer team will play their inaugural season at Gillette Stadium as White Stadium in Boston undergoes renovations to become the team's official home field. That stadium will ultimately have 11,000 seats.
