Dogs Attack Person in Wareham, Owner Ignores Victim’s Injuries

UPDATE (12:30 P.M.) - Wareham Department of Natural Resources officials say they have located the woman who owns the two dogs that are suspected of attacking an individual in the town on Monday evening.

DNR officials say they are diligently working with the dogs' owner and the victim regarding the incident.

WEST WAREHAM - The Wareham Department of Natural Resources is searching for a woman and her two dogs after the animals allegedly attacked a person Monday evening.

The Wareham DNR says the victim was walking along the cranberry bogs near Papermill Road in West Wareham after 5 p.m. when they were attacked by two dogs.

Both dogs were described as pit bull mix breeds, one light in color and the other dark. The dogs were not on leashes.

The woman apparently in charge of the dogs is described as an older female with a medium build, light hair, and light color skin.

The woman and the dogs left the bog area, and headed towards County Road. DNR officials say the woman may be from the Pierceville Road, Bethel Way, County Road, or Fonseca Way area.

The owner of the dogs reportedly acknowledged the injured person and left the scene with the dogs without offering to help the victim who was seriously injured.
