The opioid crisis we are facing is enough to make any parent very nervous about their kids and their future.

Dartmouth’s initiative against the opioid crisis is holding a panel discussion next week and all residents are welcome and encouraged to attend.

According to The Standard Times, COPE which stands for community offering prevention and education was recently formed with the hope of raising awareness of the opioid crisis that hits very close to home here on the Southcoast.

COPE was formed by Dartmouth town departments and is joining forces with various stakeholders in the town of Dartmouth. Dartmouth Police detective Kyle Costa is the vice chairman of the organization and says, “We want to address the problem as a community instead of and individual effort”.

The first panel discussion in next Wednesday March 9th at 6pm and will be held at the Dartmouth Middle School.
