In a time when supporting small businesses should be second nature, one inconsiderate individual chose to do the opposite, leaving a local nail salon somewhat empty-handed.

On Wednesday, September 4, a customer at Hollywood Nails and Spa in Dartmouth walked out without paying her $130 bill. The small, family-owned salon on Faunce Corner Road, was left with the short end of the stick when the unidentified woman decided to "nail and bail."

According to the salon’s owner, Huong Do Vu, known as Holly, the woman received a full set of nail services before claiming she had left her money in the car. She promised to retrieve it and then allegedly told the staff that her husband would come by later to settle the bill.

The woman never returned, the business said.

“It’s unfortunate because she continuously told her nail tech how good her nails looked and how she was excited to come back,” the owner said.

The incident was captured on a high-quality surveillance video, which was posted to Hollywood Nails’ Facebook page. Since the video’s release, it has garnered over 18,000 views. Despite the attention, nearly a week has passed, and the salon has yet to see the woman or the money she allegedly owes.

Hollywood Nails is hoping the public can help identify the woman involved. If you have any information, contact Hollywood Nails and Spa at (508) 858-5628.
