Dartmouth Mall’s Newest Indoor Playground Haven
DARTMOUTH (WBSM) — A little nostalgia has returned to the Dartmouth Mall with its newest addition: Hyper Zone, an indoor playground for kids.
Gone are the days when malls were the hub for kids' zones, where parents could take a break during a shopping excursion by letting the kids play.
Walking the mall and the constant in and out of stores can be a lot for adults, so one can only imagine how tedious it can be for kids. Parents sometimes just need a spot for their child to run around and release some energy.
Back in the day, Discovery Zone was the place for kids at the Dartmouth Mall. Excitement filled the air as kids had the time of their lives running around, jumping in ball pits, and enjoying whatever else DZ had to offer.
Since Discovery Zone closed its doors in 1999 due to bankruptcy, the Dartmouth Mall hasn't really seen anything like it. With Hyper Zone as Dartmouth's Mall's newest edition, it's like a tiny piece of nostalgia is coming back, geared toward smaller children ages 1-8.
Hyper Zone's play area will consist of a wide range of play areas to keep kids entertained, including an obstacle course, crawling tubes, a ball pit, climbing structures and multiple slides. A separate area for toddlers will also be available.
The family business hopes that Hyper Zone can become a safe place for families to spend time together while their children run around and have fun – a rather fitting name, to say the least.
"Our journey started when we struggled to find a suitable indoor play area for our own child, especially during the cold New England winters. We wanted a place that was fun, clean, and safe," the Hyper Zone website states.
Hyper Zone is located right near Burlington within the mall. If you need a shopping break, your kids can simultaneously have fun at Hyper Zone, making it a win-win for everyone.
