Coffee lovers, rejoice. The SouthCoast is finally getting a Marylou's Coffee location that doesn't take at least 15 minutes to drive to.

Drivers on Faunce Corner Road in Dartmouth may have noticed the brand-new digital Marylou's Coffee sign attached to the Mobil station by I-195. It does, in fact, mean that a Marylou's location is coming to town.

And as the 155 Faunce Corner Road Mobil co-owner George Zacharakis tells us, "hopefully sooner rather than later."

It seems work to the exterior of the Mobil is 99% complete. The sign is up, the drive-thru has been constructed and, from the outside, it appears the shop should be ready to roll. Inside is a totally different story, however.

Zacharakis says the inside is still "a couple months away. They need to get the equipment, the pink-and-black tile for the design."

Basically, anything needed to actually brew coffee or make baked goods is not in the Mobil station yet and will likely take until the summer to be completed.

Clearly, Marylou's has a distinct look. Their signature pink-and-black shops have been a staple in Massachusetts and Rhode Island since 1986 and they are still going strong.

Not to mention still growing.

The Dartmouth Marylou's will be the first within 15 miles of New Bedford and it sounds like the Faunce Corner Road Mobil is excited to have them. People looking for work can get excited, too, because the business is already seeking staff for the latest location.

Coffee drinkers of the SouthCoast should get excited as well. Potentially by the Fourth of July, you could be swinging through Marylou's in Dartmouth for specialty iced coffees such as the Mudslinger or Banana Split, frozen drinks such as S'mores and Oreo Cookie Monster, plus breakfast sandwiches, cold brews and other coffee drinks.
