A brand new training facility with top local level coaches, batting cages, strength training and a signature basketball court is officially open in Dartmouth.

Farmhouse Sports Academy, led by owner, coach and trainer Junior Medina, will celebrate its grand opening this Saturday, November 8, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will include contests, demonstrations, and a chance for families to explore the state-of-the-art space.

A State-of-the-Art Local Training Facility

Located just off I-195 near Four Corners, the new Farmhouse Sports Academy features a signature professional-grade basketball court, eight full batting cages, an indoor goalkeeper and soccer training area, and a dedicated strength and conditioning facility. The space also includes a film room and classroom, where players learn strategy and game awareness, something Medina stresses is just as important as physical training.

Farmhouse athletes have access to the facilities 24/7, meaning members can play a pickup basketball game or practice throwing from the mound, even late at night when they might have more energy than early mornings.

“We want to teach kids how to play the game, not just run drills,” Medina said. “It starts in the classroom where they learn situations, ask questions, and really understand what they’re doing.”

Elite Local Coaches With Real Experience

Farmhouse Sports Academy is staffed entirely by non-parent coaches, something Medina said is key to maintaining fairness and development. The coaching lineup includes many well-known SouthCoast athletes and instructors, such as:

  • Todd Soares – Baseball Director, who was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers
  • Dave White – Baseball, a George Mason alum
  • Allen Leverett – Former Florida Marlins pitcher
  • Brycen Goodine - Oklahoma Sooners basketball
  • Noah Fernandes – Rutgers basketball
  • Ryan Brunning – UMass Dartmouth pitching coach
  • Nick Rego – strength & conditioning coach

This roster of coaches reads more like a SouthCoast Hall of Fame list than a coaching staff.

Building Confidence Comes First

Above all, Medina said the mission is simple: building confidence in Farmhouse athletes.

“When a kid walks out of here smiling, feeling proud of themselves, that’s the win,” he said. "That's what it's all about.
