Construction On Route 79 Will Close Central Street

MassDOT has announced more road closures as the Route 79/Braga Bridge construction reaches its final stages.

Reconstruction roadwork will be taking place during the first two weeks of May, leaving Central Street between Davol Street/Route 79 and Pond Street closed.

The closure will happen on May 2nd and last until about the 15th.

Drivers are advised to use the Water Street Connector from Route 79/138 to get to Ponta Delgada Boulevards, then turn right for Water Street/Canal Street.

Waterfront attractions in the area will remain open and accessible.
