It's been a few months since Car Wash Queen took over one of the most high-profile corners in New Bedford's North End. Formerly Tarkiln Hill Car Wash, new owners Chloe and Andrew Melanson are eager to show off the upgrades they’ve brought to the dated car wash at the corner of Belleville Avenue and Tarkiln Hill Road.

Free Car Washes at Car Wash Queen August 11 to 16

To help get the word out about Car Wash Queen, the Melansons are launching a week-long free car wash event from August 11 through August 16. Drivers can get a free car wash between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.

While luckily there’s no road salt this time of year, SouthCoast cars still collect plenty of beach sand and salty ocean air. A stop at the new Car Wash Queen is a great way to rinse off summer grit and check out their newly upgraded setup.

Major Equipment Upgrades at Car Wash Queen

“We’ve had all sorts of upgrades,” Chloe said. “There’s new self-service equipment, new wall panels, new everything.”

The property originally had three automatic car wash bays: two soft-cloth touch and one touch-free. The problem was that the equipment was outdated. Chloe, who already has experience as a car wash owner, knew what needed to be done.
