Swansea Kennel Wants to See Your Dog’s Best Halloween Costume

Halloween isn’t just for humans anymore, and let’s face it, dogs look way cuter in costumes. Camp Bow Wow Swansea gets it, and they want you to enter your four-legged friend into their Halloween costume contest to win scary-cool prizes.

Kylie Blacker, the marketing and social media manager of Camp Bow Wow Swansea, is thrilled to bring back this adorable contest.

“We did it last year, but we weren’t open yet, so there weren’t as many entries,” said Blacker, but now that their doors are open, she expects plenty of Insta-worthy photo submissions.

But be warned, a pair of devil horns isn’t going to cut it. The camp counselors are looking for fun, over-the-top ideas that incorporate the dog’s personality and overall look. For instance, my mom’s dog has a white coloring around his mouth that looks like a milk mustache. “Brady the milk carton” has a nice ring to it.

Blacker explained that anyone can submit photos of their dogs by sending them through Instagram, Facebook, or email. Once the photo is submitted, your pup will go head-to-head with other decked-out dogs on Camp Bow Wow's official Facebook page, where the community will cast its votes with likes. The three photos with the most likes will win prizes. The camp counselors will also choose a favorite, with that dog winning the fourth prize.

The prizes are not being shared yet, but don’t worry, it’s all treats and no tricks.

Camp Bow Wow Swansea will be accepting submissions until October 20 so get those creative juices flowing and head to the craft store. It’s time to give your dog a spooky makeover in the name of Halloween fun.
