Beetlejuice 2 Resumes Production In Massachusetts This Week

Now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is officially over, movie productions are picking up where they left off. Filming has started once again for Beetlejuice 2, and the cast and crew were spotted in a quiet neighborhood in Melrose this week to film a few scenes.

NBC10 Boston spoke with a crew member, who said they are filming several scenes in Melrose on Thursday and Friday.

Resident Ray Gillis said, “It’ll be fun. We’ll be up there watching at our house driving her bicycle, Jenna Ortega’s going to drive by.”

While much of New England is eager to put up holiday decorations, the homes near Charles and Oakland Streets are decked out with Halloween décor as they play the important role of being the backdrop for this highly anticipated sequel.

It was also shared that Golden Globe nominee, Jenna Ortega, would be on set Thursday, and onlookers were quick to snap a shot of the star, who was spotted in a purple and black striped dress.

Michael Keaton, Catherin O’Hara, and Winona Ryder all return as their iconic characters for the sequel, and Willem Dafoe and Justin Theroux are also said to make an appearance in the film.

Beetlejuice 2 is projected to hit theatres in September of 2024.
