Would You Buy An Uninhabitable Home?
You can't live there yet, but you can spend $650,000 to make this house yours.
Probably not the perfect home for most, but a Melrose, MA two-family property could be all yours for just $650,000.
As you can see from the photos the house was heavily damaged in a fire and is currently uninhabitable.
But that's not stopping the owners from putting it on the market and hosting an open house (closed house?) this Saturday June 16th.
According to Zillow, other homes on the same street have price tags of $800,000 and even $1.3 million, so perhaps the $650,000 for a major fixer-upper is worth it?
Not the house I'd be spending $650,000 on if I had it, but I'm sure there are those who would love to make this place their own.
The Boston Globe spoke with the real estate agent who claims it is the perfect place for a developer and told them the $650,000 is a bump UP from where things started.
I guess that means plenty of people want to buy themselves a house they can't even live in yet, but whoever ultimately buys it will have a lot of work ahead of them. Would you do it?
