Have a baby, but still want to get away? There are some baby-friendly choices when planning a vacation with your little one.

This summer will be the first time I've had to factor in a child to my vacation plans. So knowing where to bring a baby and where not to bring a baby will make all the difference in the world when planning.

According to several baby websites and mom blogs, here are some of the vacation dos when taking an infant along.

    Cruise

You make think hitting the open seas with your baby is a little overwhelming, but a cruise vacation with baby can be perfect for everyone. With everything on board, you don't have to lug strollers and pack 'n plays to every destination. And your room is always a short walk away if you and baby need a break. Plus with the spa right on board, one parent can watch the baby while the other gets some pampering time. And most cruises are family-friendly offering services like baby sitting and on Disney cruise lines you can even order things like diapers and wipes, so you don't have to pack them.

    Beach Getaway

Perfect for the Southcoast is renting a beach house. It's a great way to get vacation time away without having to do any serious travel. You can be close to home for that first vacation with baby (just in case you forget anything), but you can have time to veg out and relax. Plus if you invite family to drop by, you've got built in babysitters!

    All-Inclusive Resorts

Loved for all their amenities, all-inclusive resorts are great for first time getaways with your baby. Much like the cruise ship, everything is there, your room is close by when you need a break and parents can each have alone time throughout the trip if they want it. Plus many resorts cater to families (some are specifically for families) and offer things like baby-proofing your room, in-suit nannies and baby needs on site so you never run out!

    Grandparents House

You may want more of a vacation then stopping by with mom and dad, but if you don't live near your parents a short getaway to see them with their new grandchild can be a perfect first-time getaway. You'll have all the comforts of home (if you actually stay with them), plus you'll have the folks there to watch your little one so you and your significant other can have some one-on-one time for a change. Plus you can bring all the gear you want and can save big on meals by having them home cooked!
