More rain for Friday and Saturday are making your weekend plans wet once again.

Another round of rain is coming across the SouthCoast, but ABC 6 meteorologist Jeff Desnoyers says it won't be as bad as last weekend's weather.

That's because this time around the rain is coming over a longer period of time and in two waves.

So even though we are expected to get heavy rains, they may not lead to as much flooding and water damage as some folks got last weekend.

The 36 hours of rain we're looking forward to Friday into Saturday will likely be spread out enough to limit flooding and the winds will not be nearly as high either, reducing tree damage and possible power outage threats as well.

All good news for folks on the SouthCoast.

Desnoyers does say that thunderstorms are likely to occur and a very small chance of a tornado hitting the area again is out there as well.

Still all in all, this weekend's rain should not be nearly as damaging as last weekend's rain was for many in Southern New England.
