Here Is What the SouthCoast Is Panic Buying Before This Weekend’s Nor’easter
As the hours tick buy, it is looking more and more like the nor'easter is going to be a certainty here on the SouthCoast. Pinpoint Weather 12 Meteorologist T.J. Del Santo is calling for rain moving in on Friday night and sticking around for Saturday before it eases up on Sunday.
It's the addition of the wind that will make this an interesting storm, with wind gusts in most of our listening area ranging in the neighborhood of 50-60 miles per hour, especially on Saturday. Del Santo is saying that the SouthCoast, especially those that live on the immediate coastline, should be prepared for potential power outages.
Once we shift into potential power outage territory, that's when the craze sets in. Seemingly normal people will get glazed over eyes and have the need to invade Stop & Shop or Market Basket to stock up on "necessities." I'll admit, that I'm one of them. I'll venture out to Acushnet to "stock up" on some Acushnet Creamery ice cream. God knows I can't end my day without a bowl of it before bed.
It's interesting, because if you think about it, the likelihood of being inconvenience for anything more than a handful or hours is unlikely. However, if you're going to be stuck in the house for what could be the entire day on Saturday, you want to make sure your cravings are properly taken care of.
We asked the SouthCoast what you'll panic buy heading into this weekend's storm, and here are your top answers.
