A Saturday Night Stabbing In New Bedford

A New Bedford man walked himself into the emergency room at St. Luke's Hospital over the weekend after being stabbed.

The Standard Times reports that New Bedford Police say two men approached the victim near Page and Allen Streets Saturday night around 7:45pm.   They stole his cell phone and then stabbed him in the arm and stomach before running away.

Luckily, the victim was close enough to the hospital and got there as quickly as he could by foot. He was treated with stitches for the wounds on his arm and abdomen.

Police are investigating and asking anyone with information to please contact them asap.
