Since I started working here back in January, I've heard all about the great restaurants here on the Southcoast.I've slowly been getting out to try them all.  This past weekend I had the chance to finally get over to the SeaFire Grillhouse and Bar in New Bedford.  It's the new restaurant in the old Candleworks building.

My husband and I had an 8 pm. reservation, and when we walked in, we were greeted and sat right away. Walking to our table, there was a musician seated across from the bar playing live acoustic music, which we enjoyed.

We sat down to take a look at the menu, and immediately decided on the Portuguese style calamari with chourico, and the buffalo tenders for starters.

Both choices were great ones, as I knew they would be! Our waiter was Elliot, who was very nice, attentive and very friendly.

Now it's time for the main entrees!  I had the Seafood Delight, which you guessed it, was pretty delightful.  It was a mix of littlenecks, mussels, scallops, shrimp and crab in with white wine sauce and fettuccine.  My husband is a steak kind of guy, so he had the filet, and that was also delish!

We  had to try dessert while we were there, so we asked Elliot what he recommended. His suggestion was an amazing Halloween concoction that wasn't even on the menu!  It was chocolate and vanilla creme brulee, with peanut butter, M&M's, and whipped cream. It was amazing and so big that we had to share it!

What a meal!  We had a great experience all around at the SeaFire Grillhouse and Bar.  If you're looking for a tasty meal, a nice casual, relaxing experience, SeaFire is where it's at. It's in the old Candleworks building on North Water Street right off of Rt. 18 in New Bedford.
