I read this story last night with high hopes that Ava Lins would get to keep her job and I was thrilled to find out this morning that she does indeed get to keep her job. Ava is a 19-year old cashier at a 7-Eleven in Salem, Massachusetts and was in jeopardy of being fired for offering a free small cup of hot coffee (which only costs about $1) to a homeless man who had wandered into her store on a dangerously cold night earlier this month. She lives alone and supports herself and was terrified of being unemployed. She posted this to 7-eleven's Facebook page and received an enormous amount of support:

Channel 5, WCVB-Boston, reported last night that she can keep her job. Ava was getting really worried that she would soon be unemployed but is beyond thankful for the support she has received. She told WCVB that she only has about $10 to her name and has been struggling to make ends meet all winter. She took to her Facebook page yesterday to announce that she would be returning to work:

You did the right thing Ava! It is nice to hear that there are still people out there who know what it means to pay it forward.
