We've had what feels like more than our fair share of snow here on the Southcoast, but over in Japan they actually have nearly 30 feet to deal with! But they've learned to make a super cool tourist attraction from all the winter white stuff.

It's called the Alpine Route and it is a huge snow canyon carved into the side of the mountains in the Northern Japanese Alps. And it can get up to 50 feet in some spots!

As you can see from the video, the walls of snow tower over sightseers drawn to this winter road in Tateyama, Japan every year. But it's not actually accessible in the winter.

The Alpine Route is only open from mid-April to late-May. Buses bring tourists in day after day for either a quick ride through or a leisurely stroll to really take in the walls of white.

Snow plows that dig the road have to use GPS to start carving in the right spot each season. They can line up with the road dozens of feet below them to the centimeter and then take pass after pass until they hit pavement.

At least no one has to shovel any of it!
