Some light rain fell from the clouds this morning as the first wave of 328 swimmers jumped in the water for the 20th Annual Swim Buzzards Bay. The 1.2 mile course from Davy's Locker in New Bedford to Fort Phoenix Beach in Fairhaven was packed with swimmers of all ages...ranging from 12 to 73 years old! They were from 130 cities and towns and 16 different states.

The Top 3 Swimmers
1. Alex Gallant of Lakeville. Heading into his Junior year on the Apponequet Swim Team...he's already won a pair of conference titles.
2. Morgan McCarthy of Orleans (former James Madison University Team)
3. Alex Turner of Lakeville. Just graduated from Old Colony and is headed to Keene State. Alex set the school record for the 200 free (1:46.31) to place 5th in the state.

The money will be used to reduce the pollution in the bay's harbors and coves, to preserve the bay coastline, rivers, and drinking water supply lands, and to educate citizens throughout the Buzzard's Bay watershed.
