The Herald News gave big thumbs up to State Trooper Kyle Duarte along with the teenagers on the scene who helped rescue this unidentified 15-year old boy.

The kids were playing soccer near the Quequechan River at Britland Park when the boy went after a soccer ball that had landed on the ice. The kids called for help and acted quickly forming a rescue chain with each other holding onto the boy until the police arrived.

The boy was treated and released from Saint Anne’s Hospital.
