12th Annual Oktoberfest in Downtown New Bedford
The 12th Annual NB Oktoberfest is coming back to Downtown New Bedford’s Pier 3.
Grab your lederhosen (or don’t, that’s okay) and get ready for the 12th Annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 14th. Here are all the details you need to know:
Whose Event is This? NB Oktoberfest is sponsored by the Southcoast Business Alliance (SCBA). This gang of “ambitious professionals” live, work and play on the Southcoast. They actively raise funds throughout the year with great events such as Oktoberfest.
What Does the Money Support? The money from Oktoberfest admissions goes towards supporting at-risk youth and education based charities in our community. For example, the YMCA’s After School Program, as seen below. You can buy your tickets in advance here or grab them at the door for $20.
What Happens Once I’m There? Why, you drink yourself some beer, of course! Currently, twelve local brewers will be on hand to pour your favorites, including: Buzzards Bay Brewing, Cisco Brewing, Mayflower Brewing, Naukabout Beer Company, Von Trapp Brewing,Weihenstephaner, Troegs, Peak, Otter Creek, Revolution, Two Roads, Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr, Castle Island, Sam Adams, Downeast Cider, Curious Traveler, Fool Proof Brewing, Narragansett Beer, Moby Dick Brewery & Greasy Luck Brewery!
Feeling super festive? Buy a commemorative beer stein while supplies last. This year will feature expanded brews and music featuring Living On a Bad Name, Craig DeMelo & Friends, and The Pourmen.
Of course, once you have a beer you’ll want to chow down, too. Grab some extra cash for the for some eats from: Fancheezical Food Truck, Two Sisters Food Truck, The Bearded Chicken Food Truck, The Baker, Cool Licks & more to come...
Who Will Be There? Try asking us who won’t be there. This has become the place to see and be seen. If you go when doors open at 3pm, you could very well see everyone you’ve ever met within a 20 mile radius by the time the event shuts down at midnight.
In all seriousness, NB Oktoberfest is a really fun time for a good cause but don’t ruin a good time by getting behind the wheel drunk. Look for anyone of of the many good folks in their SCBA shirts and ask them to call you a cab.
See you on the pier!
