Some shoppers are all for it! and Some are saying its a family day, not shopping. Where do you stand? If you’re on social media, especially Facebook, you’ve probably seen friends and followers making this promise: I will not shop on Thanksgiving.

This is in response to major retailers–including Macy’s, Kohl’s and J.C. Penney–announcing that this year they will open for the first time on Thanksgiving. This trend to get a jump on Black Friday, which some also oppose, started last year when Target, Wal-Mart and Toys ‘R Us, among others, opened on Thanksgiving.

After the feast, and the food coma, it might be GOOD FOR YOU to have an excuse to get out. Not all families have a Thanksgiving, and for some sadly, they have no family for a meal. For some, it’s a dysfunctional day filled with overeating, over-imbibing and high levels of anxiety. Why not shop?! Are you all for holiday shopping?
