Providence TV Host Spills Secret About Fun 107’s Michaela Johnson

Rhode Island TV star Will Gilbert called into the new Fun 107 morning show this morning, cutting right to the chase.

"I downloaded the Fun 107 app, I've been listening to you all morning, and I've got to say, what a great fit!" said Gilbert.

Will should know—he was Michaela Johnson's co-host for 11 out of her 12 years on The Rhode Show on WPRI-12.

We asked Gilbert for tips to help us better know our new co-host.

"Lists. She makes lots and lots of lists," said Gilbert. "She's always writing things down, and she will cross things out as she completes each task."

Gilbert also told us about Michaela's superpower.

"She remembers EVERYTHING. She remembers names like you wouldn't believe. You'll be out talking to someone you both met years ago, and she'll remember the person's name and their kids' names. She's incredible."

"She knows more about sports than most guys," said Gilbert. "And she also swears more than most guys. She's got a foul mouth that could make me blush sometimes, and it takes a lot to embarrass me. So, buckle up, boys!"

Before the call ended, Gilbert got very sincere.

"She is a true professional. She is the best at what she does. I miss her every day. You guys are blessed to have her there at Fun 107. She is as genuinely kind and nice as you'll hear on the air every morning."

His compliments about Michaela left her in tears.

"We're one for one for making Michaela cry," said Gazelle triumphantly.
