"School of Rock" the live musical has come to Providence and it is a must see show if you ask me.

"School of Rock" has been at the Providence Performing Arts Center since Tuesday and you definitely don't want to miss out on this show.

If you've seen the film then you know the story, but the musical takes it to a whole new level.

This show is like seeing a concert and a comedy all at the same time. And the super talented kids will blow you away.

All the little ones are crazy talented, they nail the songs, they really play the instruments and they can jump like nobody's business (yeah, you've gotta see the show to get that one).

The leads in the play leave a little something to be desired, however.

To me, it came across like the actor playing Dewey was really playing Jack Black as Dewey, and the actress starring as Rosalie was acting like Joan Cusack playing Rosalie.

Not that that was bad per se, and maybe that was what the role calls for or the director asked for, but it was definitely noticeable.

It doesn't, however, take away from the delightful show as a whole.

The music was fantastic, I literally laughed out loud repeatedly; even the set changes were entertaining.

I would certainly recommend seeing this show while it is at the Providence Performing Arts Center through the weekend. Perfect for all ages and bound to leave everyone smiling.
